Hi everyone, welcome back 😊
Today I want to talk about something very important, especially because we are in the season of Lent. The title of this message is “Do it simply, without making a scene,” and there is a strong reason behind it.
We are currently in the 40 days of Lent, and now we are in the final week, with it coming to an end this Sunday. This is not just a routine season—it is a meaningful journey.
Many of us begin Lent with a lot of energy, but often we focus on the wrong things. We think Lent is about showing others how much we are sacrificing. We say things like, “I am not eating non-veg,” or “I have stopped drinking tea,” or “I am staying off social media.”
Sometimes, we say these things so people will notice us and think we are very spiritual or disciplined. But if you are doing it for the praise of people, then that praise is your only reward.
The true meaning of Lent is not about an outward show—it is about an inward change ✨
When you fast or give something up, you don’t have to look tired or sad just to show others that you are sacrificing. If you turn your sacrifice into a performance, you are missing the point. Lent is a quiet season. It is a time to look deeply into your own heart and ask yourself,
“Am I becoming a better person?”
If you are giving up food but still being harsh to your family, or unkind to others, then your fasting has no real value. It is far better to eat a full meal and be kind than to fast and hurt people around you.
True sacrifice must lead to a change in your character.
Lent is personal. It is between you and God 🤍
You don’t need to post about your prayers or announce your sacrifices. When you help someone, do it quietly. When you pray, do it sincerely.
Real strength grows in the hidden places.
During this season, Lent is also about love in action—especially through giving to others🤝
It reminds us to help those in need and to care for people around us. It begins with Ash Wednesday, where we remember that we are human and humble, and everything we do should come from a sincere heart ✨
We all know why Jesus started fasting, but I’ll explain it again for new readers and even non-believers who are reading this 😊
Lent begins from Ash Wednesday and reminds us of the 40 days Jesus spent fasting and praying in the wilderness. He did this to prepare Himself spiritually and to show us how to depend on the Lord.
During those 40 days and nights, Jesus faced real temptation from Satan. He was tested in different ways, even being offered power and everything in the world.
Jesus did not fall. He stood strong and chose the Lord over everything 🙏
Through prayer, self-control, and obedience, He overcame every temptation, and showed us that evil has no power over a strong and faithful heart.
After those 40 days, Jesus came out not weak, but stronger and ready for His purpose. Later, when He entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, people welcomed Him with joy, praising and supporting Him, recognizing Him as someone sent by the Lord 🌿
As we walk through these forty days, focus more on cleansing your heart than just avoiding certain things.
If you have a habit of gossiping, work on speaking less.
If you get angry easily, practice patience.
These are the fasts that truly matter.
Fasting from food is only a tool—it helps you gain control over your mind and heart. But love should always come first. If you follow every rule but lack love, then Lent loses its meaning.
Now that we are in the final days of Lent, we still have time.
Even if only four days are left, we can still pause, reflect, and make a change.
We still have time to control ourselves, to correct our habits, and to grow.
✝️ Final Days Meaning
As we come to the end of Lent, we remember important days like Maundy Thursday, where Jesus shared His last supper and washed His disciples’ feet. Even though He was their Lord, He chose to serve them.
“As I have loved you, so you also should love one another.” 🤍
This teaches us humility. In today’s world, many think they are too big to serve. But Jesus showed us that no one is greater or smaller—we are all equal.
Then comes Good Friday, where Jesus was crucified on the cross for us. It reminds us of His sacrifice and love. We are also called to sacrifice for others—our family, friends, our country and people around us.
And finally, Easter Sunday 🌿
A joyful day, because Jesus rose again. It reminds us that hope is alive and victory is real.
These 40 days lead us to this truth. It is not just about fasting for a short time, but about changing our life completely.
Not just being good for these days, but continuing it always. If we truly follow this, these 40 days can change our habits, thoughts, and heart ✨
At the end of these forty days, the goal is not to impress others, but to become a better version of yourself.
Even if you change one small habit or become a little more kind, your Lent is meaningful 🌿
